Better than the other way around... grandma naked and cousin horrified!!! Twisted Evil

Do I enjoy nude scenes in movies??? Well.... that depends... on who's naked. I absolutely don't mind any hottie being shirtless.... or pantless. As a matter of fact it can actually happen and "I'm drooling, I'm drooling, I'm drooling down the river..."
But is THAT art???? IMHO... ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!!!!!! Laughing

Very funny..... yeah, my cousin's "Kate Winslet" naked film moment was certainly the talk of the family for a while.

Your response compared to mine is movie makers proof that "you can't please all of the people all of the time."

Nudity in films has always been a pet peeve of mine; along with certain bad language.... something to endure if I want to enjoy a particular movie.

Oh, well, my choice, right?

I'm sure to like the "Lefay wives" once I finally get to see it; & if I ever attend one of Tim's standup performance, I'm sure I'd enjoy it even though I'm warned he uses blue language; lol.

I always thought Elvira was hilarious; and she's very risque; I kind of think she crossed the line in one of her movies when she "busted out" in a vegas show with a tassel twirling moment.

There's many movies I'd like much better with just a bit of editing, but who wants to wait til they are on tv spliced with commercials?

Oops.... should I have worded my comment differently? All I was trying to say, is that for movies in general, I prefer not to see naked bodies; lol; and for any "love making" to not be too..... revealing.

Does that mean you have never watched a Sex/Erotic Film? I axcious to ask, if you ever watched any Porn? Confused

That would be "no" and "never." lol.

I was raised to believe sex was sacred/private & to be enjoyed only by marriage/committed relationship.

But, the porn industry is a completely different market from sex/nudity showing up in mainstream films like Titanic. Kate's "let it all hang out" moment brings Proverbs 11, 22 to mind, " Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion."

So her naked boobs equal a lack of discretion? They're just boobs and were only visible for a sec....

That scene could have been expertly filmed to allow the audience to know she was nude without ever having to see it; for the sake of "realism" when the filmmaker leaves nothing to be left to the imagination, it's a cheap shot, and I do mean cheap.

And many people have the view that nudity is no big deal, it's just a boob, it's just a backside, what's the fuss?

But if that were true, I guess society would all be running around naked like one big nudist camp, right? lol.

The truth is sex/nudity is a very big deal, but filmmakers frequently turn it into something with a price tag that can be sold, no respect & cheaply (well, maybe not "cheap" the actors get paid nicely).
The more people are "exposed" to nudity in films the more they begin to accept it as ok..... like a social brainwashing.

And what's really funny, is when a person speaks out against it, they can be deemed as having a "problem." "It's just sex, don't you like sex?" lol.

I guess the bottom line, (get it, "bottom"?) is some people want to see it, and some people don't.......

Yeah, I get your bottom line...

Sex truly sells and I don't always appreciate naked/sex scenes. But the Titanic naked scene was beautiful. First she wears that almost-see-through dressing gown that still only lets you guess what's under it and then you see her back and ONE boob. That doesn't make her a nudist who's running around naked in public. I also didn't think it was "cheap".

And the fact that I enjoy seeing some(!) actors/actresses naked doesn't make ME want to go FKK!!!!!

I don't think I'll be clicking on any of your "nudist" links there, sorry, lol.

I saw an amazing motivational speaker once, just channel flipping, the show was called Sex Has A Price Tag.

http://pamstenzel.com/

The lady was explaining the consequences of the choice you make. Did you know there is an STD epidemic right now? One in four teens has a sexually transmitted disease. People have been fed the "safe sex" myth for years; and this is the result. The influence of television & movies is an undeniable contributor to the fact much of society believes that sex is to be treated casually.

One in four. STD. Some of which will kill you. HPV (which causes cancer) kills more people than aids.

I guess since movies/tv shows are intended for entertainment, filmmakers probably feel no responsibility for the powerful influence/culture brainwash people gradually receive by viewing actors going from partner to partner to partner with no consequences.

If one in four teens has a STD, I wonder about the adult statistics?

Anyway, nudity in film. For the actress who sells her boobs, in a beautifully filmed, sexy way for the sake of a "great script."

I have to say, that I will always view it as a "cheap shot" and completely unnecessary to the story.

Here ya go, it reads, "Like to be naked? Like to watch reality shows? Stardom may for you."

It's a reality show at a nudist resort in Florida......... gosh, why didn't I think of that one?

LOL

I'm sorry to disappoint you but I don't watch reality shows... except your "Flori-duh" clips! Laughing

I still wonder what Kate Winslet has to do with teens with STD... Maybe it would help to teach those kids about STD and how to take care of themselves when having sex before they get married at age 35!

"What does Kate Winslet have to do with teens with STD?" LOL. Too funny.......

Ok, I don't mean to pick on the lovely Kate's career moves; she was just an example of unnecessary nude shots in film.

As for my grand STD spew; I was just trying to make a connection of how movies/tv influence culture in general; from fashion to behavior.

For example; I never wanted to go swim out in the ocean after watching Jaws..... thanks, spielberg.

And of course not everyone is influenced by what they are bombarded with from movies/tv year after year; but many are, that's all I was trying to say.

Btw, like you, I don't watch reality shows either...... I guess I'd rather be in one, LOL.

But how can you be in a reality show when we never get to see you???? Will you hide behind a fence???? Laughing

The thing about believing everything you see on TV... well ask our Granny! She watches the reliable news shows and stuff every day and then she mixes up all the information and memorizes only half of that mix and then(!) she's trying to tell you about it matter-of-factly... Sometimes real funny I tell ya!

I don't think the influence is THAT huge as long as you keep thinking for yourself or stay critical to a degree (which many ppl don't do, I know!). For example: I LOVE Sex and the City and all four of the main characters but I wouldn't want to switch places... (I mean if they were real)

PS: No jaws in the Pampa... so that never scared me Laughing

I find it difficult to film myself; I'm actually ready for my "close-up" but I can't get anyone to cooperate. My reality show has already hit a snag, coz nobody wants to appear on it; lol. I need to find some less camera shy people to hang out with.

I like Sex In The City too; a great example of life style choices that are not "good" to make; entertaining to watch though.

And that is the point of entertainment anyway......

P.S. Hasepup

Omg, here's the answer to that little wayward thought I had about std statistics the other day............

http://www.globalhealth.org/news/article/13312

Half of Men May Have HPV Infections

March 1, 2011

Half of men in the general population may be infected with human papillomavirus or HPV, the human wart virus that causes cervical and other cancers, ......... U.S. researchers said on Monday.

And........... it doesn't say what kind of stds the ones who don't have HPV may possibly have......

I know, I know, what does all this have to do with nudity in the movies?

It just seems to me the wrong sort of message about sex is broadcast to people all the time...... let's not blame Hollywood but whoever started the myth of "safe sex"......

Ya know, those ladies are so darn fortunate; between the four of them they not only slept around with half the men in New York, they slept with the half that does not have HPV......... how lucky is that? lol.

Btw, as my big pet peeve is nudity in film, the Sex in the City I've seen has been edited for tv; no naked boobs & backsides.... unless maybe I blinked & missed.

lol.
