Hey i see there's no topic here for what has to be one of the best Sci-fi shows ever written.

The way this show takes real mythology and historical facts and works them into the story is really well done.

As well as the fantastic acting of all involved. I think it really is one of the great sci-fi shows.

Whats everyone else think about it?

Greetings, Rockatteer.

I also would put Stargate right up there among the better sci fi shows I’ve seen.

There have been quite a few good sci fi shows on over the years. One of my earliest favorites was UFO, starring Ed Bishop and Michael Billington. (I have noted the odd rumor floating about the web suggesting that a big budget remake of UFO might be a possibility).

Babylon 5 was kind of a ground breaker with the digital special effects… lots of cool aliens too!

Farscape was another show that caught my interest. I thought the early episodes were better. There were more mysteries unsolved and to me that made it more interesting.

And I am both surprised and delighted that Dr. Who is still going strong!

I think I like the early episodes of Stargate more because there were more stand alone episodes, where each episode was a story in itself. When they got more into the running, serial style with the Ori and stuff they kinda lost me. Nevertheless, it was a great show.

Best wishes

Emrad

Yeah, by the time the got onto the Ori, the whole show was on a downward slide. RDA had left the show and he was a major link in the chain of the show, not only on screen, but he was also involved in the production side as an executive producer. And from what I hear he did get involved in making sure the show stayed on track.

Hallowed are the Ori.

Yeah, they found one a couple of years ago at a gold mine near here.

I just heard that StarGate SG:1 was the longest running Sci-Fi show in US history.
