Should Tim start tweeting?

Is Tim yellow?

Maybe he should start hunting wolves out of a helicopter and write Haikus so he can have William Shatner read them on the late late show for all of us to hear. Very Happy

I wanted to leave a comment here on a statement I found in the old journal entries.

This past year, I have tried to do my duty and support my president. I had issues and I still question a lot of things being done. But I wanted to voice my concerns, at least here. Last night watching Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman's commentaries on Obama's Q and A with the Republicans left me almost speechless.

In this year of 2010, I have noticed as a country, we have digressed, not progressed. And for some reason too many people in this country feel that making racial slurs against our president and running him down just because he's black is sheek and fashionable and makes for great news. I'm here to tell the fans of Tim Allen, no, it's not. We may disagree with the policies of our president. We have every right to. But no one has the right to demean this president in the ways that certain people have been doing these past weeks. I have absolutely no clue as to how he is keeping his temperment in this barrage of berating.
I am so glad he was telling people in his State of the Union and in his Q and A time to grow up and be the leaders their constituents expect them to be.

I was reminded today, also, in the town hall meeting, too many of us live in depressed areas. Too many of us are out of our homes, out of jobs, trying to cope and stay alive in light of the misery many of us had to endure this past year with the banks doing what they did. I am angry because our leaders have not had the hutzbah to put some of these men and women who have done this to our people in prison for their crimes. Yet, when Obama is trying to do everything else he can to fix things with the advice of the best people he can find, he has yet to find any support from pundits and newpeople who really should be ashamed of themselves for speaking out as they do. We have been making commentaries about Pat Robetson already on this board with his statements about Haiti. Too many of other people in prominent positions have been making similar statments and yet, have yet to be called to the carpet for their slurs and derogatory comments.

I am also glad he called them out on the "Bolshevik" statements they 've been making about his political philosophy. I know they are making those statements solely because he is black and he is a very smart and educated man to boot.

I urge everyone at this time to study what Socialism and Bolshevism really mean because it's apparent that no one in this country remembers their true meanings anymore. This man is a far cry from Lenin or Stalin. And I have yet to see him say anything about nationalizing our farms and turning them into government run communes.--Or a Five Year Economic Plan.

I think we also need to remember where our true roots came from--Christian people and Christian values. Too bad some people don't like the Ten Commandments up in plain sight for them to look at. We need them. We need them in our faces more than ever because otherwise we as a people forget the responsibilities we have toward our fellow man in this country to keep it free. Everyone talks about "their rights'. But everyone has seemed to have forgotten today, without responsibility toward each other, there is no freedom. There are no rights. And those people of Wall Street have proven that so well to us in the mess they made of our economy only a short time ago.

Where are the people's bonuses? Where is their right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness when the bank people thought they had more right to take it away and leave them with nothing through their bank derivatives and ponzi schemes.

They're are the ones who should be suffering, not the hard working people of these United States who just want to live and raise their families and have some sort of comfort while they are here on this Earth.

Thank you.

And he hasn't built a wall yet! Wink

I always wondered where that fear of socialism and communism in the heads of so many Americans came from. Heck, it caused a modern witch-hunting before!!!

Thanks. Watch our nightly FOX NEWS pundits. That's where they're getting it from. It's the old Joseph McCarthy Red Scare Alerts all over again. I thought we had them done away with once and for all. Where is Ike when we need him?

Some of our politicians and news people just have to make the people be scared. And there's no reason to, really. Except, our people have not gotten a decent education since my sister graduated from high school. She told me she saw it beginning when she was still a junior and senior in high school. I studied Russian history in college and Chinese History in college, too. I learned all about the Communists then and their governments and philosophies. And I can really tell you Obama is a far cry from being any one of those guys yet.

I do realize when I went to college many Africans and other third world people who are coming to america to get their education were leaning in time toward a more socialist outlook. Those who went to the Soviet Union--guess what, looked toward a more capitalistic view of things. go figure. But, today's world is a far cry from being that the way it was then. Now, it's oligarchies, cartels, religious leaders and the reemergence of empires.

And the United States is on the decline. Why? Because we failed to educate our young to keep us from declining. And now we are paying the price--unto the future generations.

..I'm still waiting for the day when colleges give classes about the history of the GDR! Laughing Like that'll ever happen. It's just the Pampa!
But I guess you are right. It's all about fear (of the unknown) and panic.

Seems like the United states were not the only country who didn't pay attention to their kids education. We have the same problems here. My son is in first grade and he's still learning to read... when I was in first grade I could read by christmas. Heck, I even read the old German letters...

Goin' Coconuts was the name of a movie starring Donnie & Marie Osmond.

LadyHawke, some of your comments about what is going on in America reminded me of a speech I heard as a kid, in the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln theater in Disneyland, Calif.

This statement in particular, by Mr. Lincoln:

"At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, that if it ever reach us, it must spring from amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we ourselves must be the authors and finishers."

Interesting.......
