My college education was in Mechanical Engineering. Did a stint in Product Development (medical devices) and Manufacturing Engineering (metal cutting). Now I do IT-related Project Management. It pays the bills. Other interests are spirituality (I favor Christianity), religion (mine is Catholic), philosophy (Pirsig's Metaphysics of Quality is interesting) and quantum theory (I'm half-way through George Johnson's Fire In the Mind: Science, Faith and the Search for Order; I highly recommend it).

My advice to anyone considering a future in Engineering is, don't loose your heart in the pursuit of rationality. The power of math and science to explain reality and predict the future comes with great temptation. Pursue Engineering by all means save those that require sacrificing faith, hope and love.

God bless.

Thanks for the information. I will have to put that on my book list, Hopefully I will be taking that class instead. Maybe Adminette can put that on the book list.
